For their ninth annual on-property sale of Rogara Poll Merino rams at Goulburn, Ron and Aaron Granger offered 60 rams to realise a top price of $4000 paid by repeat buyers J.E and L.L Sheil, Lake Bathurst.
The sale average of $1530 was achieved for the 44 rams sold during the auction with a further four rams sold immediately after.
Speaking after the sale, co-studmaster Aaron Granger expressed satisfaction with the results considering the testing seasonal conditions.
“It was quite a good sale and we are very happy as many of our clients have reduced their ewe numbers so didn’t need so many rams,” he said.
Buyer of the top priced ram, John Shiel said the Rogara sheep were renowned for their correct structure and he was attracted to the ram for his impressive figures.
Volume buyers included the Reynolds family, Twyzel Pastoral Co., Lake Bathurst, purchasing six for an average of $1250, Gimour Station, Lake Bathurst, who purchased five at $1160 and Roseglen Pastoral Co, Collector, paid an average of $2283 for three rams including one at $3750.
Other notable prices included $3250 paid by Steve Jarvis, Boorowa, $2400 paid by K.D Williamson, Tarago, $3000 paid by Brokea Pastoral Co, Tarago, and $3250 paid by F.N and H.M Rizzoli, Ballarat, Victoria.
Landmark and Australian Wool Network, Goulburn, conducted the sale with Landmark studstock specialist Rick Power taking the bids.
