THE Parkes Sharks held their annual swimming carnival over the first weekend in December which saw 17 swimming clubs from both the Mountain and Plains as well as the Western Swimming Areas travel to Parkes.
A total of 234 swimmers competed over the two days with 20 distance events held on the Saturday afternoon and another 78 events on the Sunday.
The local swimmers and their parents supported their carnival with the Parkes Sharks fielding of team of 80 swimmers with a total of 399 entries.
However, it was the City Of Orange Swim Club that took home the most gold over the two days with its swimmers claiming victory in 67 events.
The Chitukudza sisters Felicity, 14, and Francesca, 12, were the stand out swimmers for the club both winning 13 events each while their brother Francis, also 12, was close behind, winning 11 events over the two days.
