More than a 1000 sheep have been stolen in the state’s central west in what has been described as a theft involving “significant planning”.
The Central West Rural Crime Prevention Team is currently investigating the reported disappearance of over 1000 sheep from a property near Tullamore in Central West NSW.
The sheep are described as two, three and four-year-old Merino cross Dohne ewes.
They were last seen on the property December 21, 2018 and noticed missing two days later.
Detective Senior Constable Andrew McGrath said a theft of this magnitude required significant planning.
“The logistics of moving sheep this size is significant, it would take a b-double and semi-trailer truck,” Senior Constable McGrath said.
He said the ewes were July shorn and had a capital “M” earmark in the right ear.
The ewes also have an eartag (colours mainly blue, black and white) depicting the number NE141689.
Several Dohne rams were also with the mob.
