Iconic Shorthorn breeder Edward ‘Eddie’ Spry passed away recently.
THE Shorthorn and wider beef cattle community is mourning the loss of industry stalwart Edward ‘Eddie’ Spry.
Mr Spry, co-principal of Darweena Shorthorn stud, passed away peacefully on Sunday at the age of 96.
He and his wife Helen dispersed their Darweena herd, paving the way for the expansion of Spry’s Shorthorns under Gerald and Lynden Spry.
Announcing the news this week, Spry’s Shorthorns said Mr Spry lived a fulfilling life.
A graveside service of thanksgiving will be held at the Wagga Wagga Lawn Cemetery, Brunskill Road, Lake Albert, on January 15 from 10am.
