COMPETITION among a small crowd created solid demand for the small offering of 350 head at last Friday’s Dubbo store cattle sale resulting in weaner steers selling to $650 and heifers to $440.
The steer market was slightly stronger than the pre-Christmas sales although condition and quality related.
Weaner steers sold from $285 averaging $490 or 251 cents a kilogram while heifers made from $172 to average $346 or 200c/kg.
A consignment of 27 Hereford steers from the Ramsay family, "Banchory", Warren, (Pictured above) gained the highest price at $650/head by PT Lord Dakin for introductory agent Sam Lawler, Trangie Livestock and Property.

Of the 17 units of cows with calves, a pen of Charolais gained top money of $1010 a unit. PTIC cows sold up to $1000 for 13 Angus while a yearling Charolais heifer made $640.
