A top price of $5000 was achieved twice during the 72nd annual Great Southern Supreme Merino ram sale, with 35 of the 56 rams on offer being sold.
Equal top price was realised for an 18.6 micron Merino ram bred in the PR syndicate by Wal and George Merriman, Merryville stud, Boorowa and bought by longterm clients Glen Brothers, Guildford, Victoria.
Michael and Jane Corkhill, Grassy Creek stud, Reids Flat also realised $5,000 for their 18.9 micron son of Yarrawonga 961 when bought by Johnson Park Merinos, Bookham.
Gary and Donna Kopp, Towonga stud, Peak Hill had success with their first ram offered at Canberra when longterm client E and H Wythe, Broadwater, Vic paid $4,500 for the bold medium wool August-shorn sire.

The McCormack family, Walwa Merinos, Gurrundah sold a ram by Walwa 14-018 with 17.6 microns for $3,500 while the Davis family, Demondrille Merinos, Harden also received $3,500 for a son of Demondrille 680 measuring 18.3 microns when bought by D.B and N.A McMahon, Oberon.
They further paid $3000 for the second of the Demondrille draft, a son of Demondrille 1040 measuring 17.8 microns.
The sale was conducted Landmark studstock and Elders studstock with Rick Power and Steve Ridley leading their respective teams.
