Repeat buyers and strong interest from Victoria underpinned the annual circuit sheep sale in Bombala when 15,000 sheep were listed for sale.
The Bombala district is enjoying a reasonable season compared to the rest of the Monaro and the state and the sheep presented in very good order.
The reputation of the sheep bred in Bombala district for health status and performance carried the day.
Sale results brief summary:
$232 – for 41 first-cross ewes,one and half years, and July shorn
$201 – for 220 three and half years first-cross ewes, December-shorn
$174 – for 146 three and half years first-cross ewes, December-shorn
$174 – for 89 first-cross ewes, one and half years and June-shorn
$168 – for 82 first-cross ewe lambs, December-shorn
$150 – for 94 first-cross ewe lambs, unshorn
$140 – for 271 five and half years Merino ewes, June-shorn
$122 – for five and half year Merino ewes, December-shorn
Buyers attended from Ballarat, Bairnsdale and Benalla in Victoria, Wagga Wagga, Narrandera, Bega, Braidwood, Goulburn, Cooma and local areas.
Landmark Bombala conducted the sale with Peter Cabot and Tony Brady taking the bids.
