The 2019 Cowra Cup meeting, despite the ongoing heatwave attracted it’s largest crowd in recent years.

While the committee made the hard decision not to hold the fashions in the field events for this year, the Go Troppo theme was still embraced by many of the racegoers.

This year the feature race, the Cowra Lamb Cowra Cup over 1700 metres was won by the locally-owned and trained Welcome Art.

The six-year-old brown gelding is trained by Cowra trainer, Andrew Molloy and was ridden by the Canberra-based jockey, Billy Owen.

Fellow Cowra trainer, Danny Parsons combined with Dubbo-based jockey Greg Ryan to win the last race of the day with Sonic Girl.

While the 2019 breakout River Meats Cowra Japan Cup over 1200m was won by the Chris Heywood, Young-trained Fermanagh Lad.
