With Gallaghers Machinery West Wyalong and Temora Truck and Tractor owners Allan and Bev Gallagher looking to retire, David and Renee Thompson, of McPhersons Parts and Service, have seen an opportunity to expand their business.
On February 11, the Thompsons will take ownership of both businesses, which are both New Holland dealerships, taking their total to five.
Already with three businesses including McPhersons Parts and Service, Cowra Machinery and Forbes Machinery, David and Renee are excited by the opportunity of delivering the same customer service in Temora and West Wyalong.
“Like we have with our current businesses in Parkes, Forbes and Cowra, we want to keep Temora Truck and Tractor and Gallaghers Machinery, which will become West Wyalong Machinery Centre, community-oriented businesses,” Mr Thompson said.
“Allan and Bev Gallagher have done a fantastic job since they started Temora Truck and Tractor back in 1980.
“As fellow New Holland dealers, we have been dealing with Allan and Bev for many years and it has been a pleasure.
“We look forward to continuing to provide the excellent service customers at all our branches are familiar with.”
Mr Thompson is proud of the teams at the new branches and what they mean to the community.
“Our businesses support the towns where they are based by keeping jobs in the town,” he said.
“That is the case for Temora Truck and Tractor and West Wyalong Machinery Centre as well.
“All the current staff are staying at both branches so customers will continue to see the familiar faces they have been dealing with for years.
“Our branches have hundreds of years of experience between them.
“Tom Harvey will be stepping up from sales manager to branch manager in Temora.
“Tom and his family have been in Temora for 10 years and are truly a part of the community.
“He has been at Temora Truck and Tractor for two years and has eight years experience in agriculture.
“Branch manager of West Wyalong Machinery Centre will be Andrew McCoullough.
“Andrew will integrate his current business AMMR which he has owned and operated since 2013.
“Andrew and his wife Anna have three children with one on the way.
“He has a wealth of knowledge in the agricultural and mining industry.
“I’m confident both Tom, Andrew and our new teams will embrace this opportunity.”
