Climate change has become a huge money spinner for Chinese and Spanish wind turbine and solar panel manufacturers. Wind power is contributing less than 2 per cent of US energy, but gets 42 per cent of US Government renewable subsidy – much to President Trump’s annoyance.
Was Noah’s great flood story thought up by the promotion division of the Mediterranean Boat Builders’ Association?
Business would have thrived following its release; the thought occurred to me as I watched a YouTube presentation by four US Climate Scientists. One of them read out a review by the American Meteorological Society listing increased fires, cyclones, droughts, polar melting’s and some coastal cities being uninhabitable within 20 years.
It all sounded familiar, but the report was written in November 1922!!
Climate change has succeeded communism and terrorism as “the number one threat”. It is a hard enemy to define.
The four scientists pointed out that the world average temperature is currently cooler than for 90 per cent of the past 10,000 years. Current icebound US residents would understand!
This doesn’t fit well with the Green/ALP renewables PR campaign, whose wind turbine worship rivals that accorded the huge Moai statues on Easter Island.
The biggest wind farms in the US are, naturally, in Texas. They have now been proven to be drying the soil and increasing the ground temperatures in their vicinity.
Coal supplies 90 per cent of the fuel for the world’s power stations. There are currently 3700 odd coal-fired power stations around the world, with a further 1600 odd being built.
China and India are the biggest builders, as their peoples’ standard of living rises at speed. Australia has 24 power stations and instead of building, we are decommissioning our only reliable source of power, while exporting increasing coal tonnages to our global business competitors. This is just crazy.
Greens, and the ALP, say that we should set an example to the world on how to control climate. They conveniently overlook the demand factor – 66 per cent of emissions come from transport, air-conditioned cities, factories etc. If they were genuine, they would push for a return to wind power for sea transport as a start. The obvious solution to pollution, population control, is too frightening for them all.
It is time for the Prime Minister to stop the cowardly Coalition pussy footing. He held up a lump of coal in parliament. He knows what is the right course and should loudly back coal-fired electricity in the interests of us all.
As Sir William Slim said “When you cannot make up your mind which of two evenly balanced courses of action to take, you should choose the bolder”.
Some courage could even see him win the election.
