Senate President Scott Ryan has stripped Pauline Hanson's chief-of-staff James Ashby of his parliamentary pass after he was involved in an altercation with United Australia Party senator Brian Burston.
Senator Ryan said he made the decision after reviewing footage of the clash between the two men outside a dinner at Parliament House on Wednesday night.
"I have exercised my authority to revoke Mr James Ashby of his pass to access the building and prohibit him from entering the building for the time being," Senator Ryan said.
On Wednesday night, Mr Ashby and Mr Burston were involved in a confrontation over Mr Ashby filming Mr Burston and his wife.
Mr Ashby claims United Australia Party Senator Burston snatched his phone, before throwing it on the floor.
Mr Burston had earlier claimed he was sexually harrassed by his former One Nation boss Pauline Hanson.
Today, Mr Burston admitted to smearing his blood on Senator Hanson's door on Wednesday night, after his hand was cut in the altercation earlier. He wore a bandage on his hand into the Senate on Thursday. Senator Burston said he was reporting the incident to Federal Police and has sought a restraining order against Mr Ashby.
