The Royal Canberra Show has kicked off in style with quality showings of both sheep and cattle during the Friday schedule.

While numbers were back in the stock classes, judges across all breeds commended exhibitors on the standard of animals that were presented.

There was none stop action in the sheep shed with multiple breeds and fleece judging taking place.

In the Limousin ring it was Jordan Ridge of Mystic Ridge Limousins who claimed the top titles.

The Halliday family had a Non-Stop run in the Angus ring while RYCE reigned supreme in the Charolais judging

It was 20-year-old former city slicker Matt Cooney who toppled some tough competition in the Australian Lowline ring.

Shorthorn judging also took place on the first official day of the show along with Ausline judging.

Meanwhile, the Simmental ring was dominated by Norman Park
