A QUALITY showing of about 230 head of stud cattle were paraded at the Royal Canberra Show last week where the Angus and Poll Hereford breeds reigned supreme.
After two days spent judging 15 different breed rings, judges Peter Collins, Kerrie Sutherland, Rachael Wheeler and their associate, Hamish Maclure, couldn't look past Angus sire, J and C Non-Stop N18, for the interbreed bull title while it was Cloverlee Cherry Ripe K165 who secured the female interbreed win.
The two were then judged against each other for the supreme beef title, dominated by the Angus.
It was the second consecutive year the Halliday family of Wildes Meadow secured the interbreed title while their 2019 winning bull had previously been named calf champion bull at Beef Australia 2018 in Rockhampton, Queensland.
