Repeat buyers and support from local school agriculture programs helped the Yasloc Poll Dorset stud achieve a 71 per cent clearance near Glen Innes on Friday.
The Say family offered 150 rams in total with 107 sold for an average of $614 and a top of $1000 twice.
In a further breakdown, 81 of 120 two tooth rams averaged $594 while the offering of ram lambs proved popular with 26 of 30 rams averaging $678.
A pen of stud sires were offered first with Tenterfield High School paying $1000 for a son of Marocara 49/15 for his eating quality and growth.
He had a post weaning weight (PWT) of 16.7 and an eating quality (EQ) of 141.
W and S Press, Wymeanda, Uralla, also paid the sale top of $1000 for a son of Farrer 96/15 with a PWT of 18.4 and 140 EQ.
