CASINO is again set to be the centre of attention for cattle buyers with 1800 outstanding quality Hereford, Angus, Angus-cross and Murray Grey weaners to be offered on Friday, March 22.
Auctioneer Darren Perkins, George and Fuhrmann, said buyers could operate with confidence knowing the purpose bred weaners were primed to perform.
"Weaners bred in the Northern Rivers of NSW have a long established and very well earned reputation for their ability to perform," Mr Perkins said.
"Whether they go into feedlots, on to crop or grass, or are heifers to make future breeders, these are quality cattle that deliver.
"The Northern Rivers is very much focused on weaner production and the job is done very well by our specialist producers."
Feature drafts include 250 EU accredited, dehorned Hereford weaner steers and 50 weaner heifers from long term sale supporter John and Marie Smith, Woodenbong.
Jim and Jan Smith, Townview Pastoral, Urbenville, are also continuing the tradition offering 200 EU accredited Hereford steers and 100 heifers.
The Smith brothers have a long history of being awarded the champion pen of weaners ribbon at the Casino sale.
Drafts of 50 EU accredited, dehorned Hereford weaner steers and 50 heifers are also coming from the Hardcastle family's McPherson Hereford Stud, Old Koreelah.
Other vendors include Robbie Maloney, Woodenbong, who will offer 60 EU Herefod steers, and Paul McKey, Woodenbong, who will present 50 EU Hereford steers.
Neville Bryant, Tuncester, will offer 15 Hereford steers and 15 heifers as well as 15 black baldy steers and 15 heifers.
Also in the mix are 50 Angus steers and 15 heifers from Murwillumbah breeders Gordon and Margaret Quinn.
The Day One sale is sponsored by long time supporters: Herefords Australia, Medlyn Angus, Merial and Eclipse.
George and Fuhrmann’s annual weaner sales continue in Casino at the end of the month with top quality European bred and Bos Indicus calves.
The Euro line-up will be dominated by Charolais-cross calves while the Bos Indicus offering will be made up of predominantly high performance Santa bred cattle.
