A Walcha mare with a wealth of Heritage Stock Horse breeding topped the Epic Horse Sale going under the hammer for $19,000.
The striking black mare Mirandy Nova (Lot 12), which was offered for sale by Mathew and Anna Barwick, was sold to a buyer from Armidale.
Of the 76 horses for sale there was 74 per cent clearance at the fourth annual Epic Sale conducted by Ray White of Kempsey at Willawarrin Sportsground.
Buyers came from as far as Mundubbera in Queensland, Alice Springs, Croppa Creek, the Hunter Valley, Tamworth and all along the coast.
Mark Haywood from Kempsey said the sale was reflected the conditions throughout NSW and southern Queensland with buyers picking through the catalogue.
"People knew it would be a tough sale, a lot of the horses sold as a reflection on the way the season is at the present," Mr Haywood said.
"But they are going to saddle up and do it again next year."
In other sales, the McKay family of Blandford sold Glendora Venus (Lot 7) to Peter Lannergan of Kempsey for $15,000.
Yulgilbar Exceed Again (Lot 2), offered by Nick Clydsdale from Gundy, sold for $15,000 to Jim Lyons Agencies of Tamworth.
Mr Haywood added that vendors, both repeat and new vendors presented a very good catalogue of horses for sale and he thanked them all for their dedication and commitment.
"Plans are all ready well underway for the event next year," he said.
A full list of results will be able to be viewed on the Epic Horse website.
