He holds the record in the Guinness Book for the longest consecutive solo lawn bowls set.
He has walked 350km (the long way) from Brisbane to Bundaberg in six days to raise money for leukemia
Now Shayne Barwick, the head chef at the Port of Bourke Hotel, will be chalking up the pool cue when he embarks on another world record attempt - playing pool for 106 hours.
He wants to raise awareness about the drought-stricken regions of the far west - Brewarrina, Bourke and Cobar - towns that are doing it tough in this prolonged dry.
"If I can help out, I will always put my hand up," Mr Barwick said.
"On the way from Brisbane to here the changing landscape was pretty dry.
"Things are shocking when you get out here, you only have to speak to farmers and businesses to know they are struggling."
Even though the longest game of pool Mr Barwick has ever played was for an hour, he is confident he will finish.
To break the record he will play continuously against different competitors with just five minute breaks every one hour.
Due to strict guidelines that stipulate regular health checks for Mr Barwick, first aid will be provided by the Rural Fire Service, NSW State Emergency Services and the Bourke Hospital.
"I'm allowed to bank up the time, so the game plan is to play for 14 hours then have a break," he said.
"There have been plenty of locals who have put their hand up to play against me but if you are passing by I will play you as well."
Port of Bourke publican Luke Moon said Bourke was under level five water restrictions and the town had about a month of water left for residents. He said the council had put bores down but things were getting dire.
Mr Moon said the money raised through sponsorship and donations would be used to purchase vouchers from local businesses that were suffering from the drought.
He said vouchers would be distributed to farmers in need that have registered for the help from appropriate agencies.
"Everyone is doing it tough out here," Mr Moon said.
Mr Barwick will start his record attempt on May at 10pm and will finished at 8am on May 6. There will be live feeds via the Port of Bourke Facebook page throughout the event.
