ALMOST 1000 head of stud cattle, 219 dairy animals and 689 sheep exhibits will be paraded at the Sydney Royal Easter Show next month.
With under three weeks to go until the state's headline show experience begins, livestock competition entry numbers have closed with strong showings across the cattle and sheep sections.
In the commercial cattle competitions, a total of 249 purebred steer exhibits have been entered along with 49 trade entries.
A total of 993 stud cattle exhibits will compete across 16 breed categories with an impressive 313 head bound for the Angus feature breed ring.
Last year's feature breed, the Hereford will see 98 head compete, just ahead of the 95 nominated Limousin exhibits.
Shorthorn exhibits are at 83 head, while Speckle Park have 74 head, Simmental-Fleckvieh are at 57 head along with Charolais.
A total of 54 Santa Gertrudis will be judged, 42 head of Red Angus, 29 Brahman exhibits, 24 in the Red Poll, 22 head in both the Australian Lowline ring and Murray Grey, 12 in the Devon judging, 8 exhibits in Maine Anjou and three in the other recognised breed category.
In the dairy judging, 66 Jersey, 44 Holstein, 39 Ayrshire, 29 Guernsey, 28 Brown Swiss and 13 Illawarra will be exhibited.
The Merino breed dominate the sheep nominations with 279 Merino and Poll Merino exhibits.
The meat and dual purpose breeds will showcase the feature breed of Poll Dorset whom have 106 head.
They're followed by the Border Leicesters with 104 head, White Suffolk have 41 exhibits, Suffolk will be represented by 39 head and Corriedales have 35 exhibits.
A total of 29 head are nominated for the Australian White judging, 19 head in the Hampshire Down ring, 11 for Southdowns, nine Dorset Horn, and eight Wiltshire Horn.
There will be no Dorpers or White Dorpers represented while the School's Interbreed competition will have 45 entries.
About 99 fleece entries have been nominated.
