Stalwarts of the sheep and wool industry gathered in Wagga Wagga on Thursday night to award the 2019 recipients of the Peter Westblade Scholarship.
The scholarship, now in its eighth year aims to promote hands on experience for young people in the industry, while honouring the late Peter Westblade.
The recipients of this year's scholarship were Chloe Dutschke, 26, Stirling North, South Australia, and Brett Stockings, 31, Dubbo.
Chloe is a contract musterer across NSW and SA and wants to use the scholarship to gain work experience with consulting companies and build a network in the industry.
Brett Stockings manages the sales and marketing of sheep meat for the Middle East and North Africa on behalf of Fletcher International Exports, Dubbo. He plans to use the scholarship to travel, focusing on how to better market meat and wool internationally.
