There were 1100 quality cattle yarded at Adelong on Wednesday for the 51st annual autumn sale conducted by Elders, Tumut and Adelong.
The offering consisted of mainly black cattle with the odd pen of Herefords and Shorthorns attracting attention.
Among the very good lines of weaner steers, 47 12-month Hazeldean-blood Angus on account M.A and M.B Siracusa sold for $980 while Muronga Pastoral Co sold 31 Reilands-blood Angus eligible for Teys Grassland Program for $940.
Younger weaners, Kennys Creek-blood Angus seven to eight months on account Kumburrah Pastoral Co, sold for $825.
The one pen of 14-16 month steers offered by McPhee Properties sold for $970.
There was a good selection of weaner heifers with Kumburrah Pastoral Co recieving $675 for their 20 seven-eight months Kenny's Creek-blood Angus.
Among the older heifers, A and C Evans sold 18 14 month Bongongo-blood Angus for $685, while D, J.R, N.M and T.T Haines sold 30 Angus cows with 28 Scotts Angus-blood calves for $1400.
There was a $200 deduction on two cows for lack of calves.
Local restockers competed with feedlot operators and processors while interest from Cootamundra secured stock.
