A 20-month-old Red Angus heifer from the Powe family of Cargo has taken out the top title in the breed's judging at the Royal Sydney Show on Saturday.
Goondoola Cheta N15 was named junior and grand champion female by judge Jason Catts, Futurity Shorthorns, Baradine. before securing the best exhibit title ahead of senior and grand champion bull, Redgums Willy, presented by the Downey family, Yambuna, Victoria.
By Goondoola Latitude L25 and out of Goondoola Cheta L03, the female gained the praise of Mr Catts from the moment she entered the ring.
He described her as a clear winner of the female over 16 and under 20 months class and wasn't afraid to place her above the Powe family's senior champion cow and calf combination .
"She is a quality female from nose to tail," he said.
