SUPPLY of cattle fell dramatically to just 2278 head at the Roma store cattle sale on Tuesday in Queensland.
Steers dominated the yarding and the overall quality was good according to National Livestock Reporting Service figures.
Yearling steers sold from 230 to 326 cents a kilogram ($369 to $1293), while yearling heifers sold from 146c/kg to 255c/kg ($304 to $1046).
A few grown steers to live export sold from 246c/kg to 254c/kg ($1219 to $1233), while grown heifers to the processors and lot feeders sold from 151c/kg to 228c/kg ($544 to $981).
All the cows were bought by processors and sold from 120c/kg to 231c/kg ($416 to $1422).
Some top quotes included GST and JL Chambers, Glenelg, Mungallala, Qld, sold Santa Gertrudis-cross steers for 326c/kg which reached a top of $868 and averaged $819.
