With a decent dump of rain finally falling across much of the south and east of the country recently, it has given many farmers some much-needed relief.

And with more rain forecast, Terry Miller from Terry Miller Concrete Tanks said now is an ideal time to install a concrete water tank.

"The rain we've just had was really the first decent rain in about six months. And like many others, we have had to actually buy water in, which is never ideal," said Terry.

"Having Mother Nature deliver it was nice, and when that rain comes, you want to make sure you can make the most of it by collecting some for future use."

Terry Miller Concrete Tanks have been in the concrete tank building industry for around 30 years.

Based in Wodonga, on the Victorian side of the New South Wales border, they work with clients across Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland, including commercial enterprises, and small businesses. They have even built tanks for domestic customers in inner city Sydney and Melbourne who wanted to enjoy the luxury of having their own water supply.

Terry said when it comes to longevity, you can't beat concrete water tanks.

"A tank should be an investment, so you want to make sure it not only is the right fit for your property now, but also well into the future," he said.

"Concrete water tanks keep your water cool under all conditions, and free from algae and disease. They will not rust, or burn or melt nor blow away, the water will not taint nor are there any inside liners to be replaced. And best of all, they will last for many, many years."

"We are specialists in building underground tanks, which not only keeps water temperatures stable, but means they are out of sight, and the top of the tank can be used for other purposes, like carports, pergolas etc."

Concrete tanks are also a suitable storage solution for effluent, molasses, sewerage and hot water, and a well-made concrete tank can also add value to a property.

Having grown up in country Victoria himself, Terry understands the importance of good water storage systems. He uses only the best quality raw materials of concrete and mesh, and hires the most competent employees.

While other companies use concrete blocks to hold up the inner framework of their tanks, creating cold joins that could lead to future leaks, Terry Miller Concrete Tanks feature superior inner form-works supported by wooden blocks which are removed as the concrete is poured.

"With a water tank, it's important to work with a team of experts who can guide you through the process from start to finish," he said.

"There's nothing worse than installing a poor quality concrete tank, because unlike other pieces of equipment, you can't just take it back to the shop and swap it for something else."
