Progeny of Canadian-bred JSF Redneck Whiskey 4B, the 2015 Abribition junior champion, attracted the eye and bids of bull buyers at the annual Minnamurra Speckle Park bull sale, Coolah, on Friday.
Nine sons averaged $7778 including the $11,000 sale-topper while 27 bulls of the catalogue were cleared at auction for a $5704 average and sold to four states.
Victorians Paul Guy, Te Mooi stud, Benalla, John Ellis, Hanging Rock stud, Newham, and Wayne Munt, Gundowring, who runs the Munt Family Pastoral stud and a partner in Snowline stud, joined forces with Garry Linfield, Glengarry stud, Oberon, and New Zealand stud breeders Robbie and Anna Clark, Parkvale stud, North Canterbury, who together run an average stud female herd of 30 breeders combined to pay the top money for the Redneck Whiskey September 2017 drop son, Minnamurra Norton N134 (ET).
The Victorians have been regular purchasers at each of the past three sales.
Chris and Tracey Rains, Yellowie, Canowie, South Australia, bought three bulls for a $6667 average topping at $8000 for another Redneck Whiskey son.
Malcolm and Gale McKelvie, Tartha Cottage, Moonie, Queensland, purchased two bulls for their beef-breeding enterprise of Droughtmaster/Limousin-cross of 150 breeders paying $9000 for another Redneck Whiskey son.
