A CLEVER stop-motion animation made from Lego carefully depicts the journey of cattle leaving the farm, arriving at the abattoir, and ultimately becoming meat on a plate.
The video, which runs for around two minutes, has to be seen to be believed. However, the impressive aspect is the fact the project was created by a Wagga boy aged just 13.
Archie Cowley is a Year 7 student at the Wagga Christian College. He made the video for his Year 7 Technology Mandatory class.
Archie said he had enjoyed making the animation but conceded it took about four days to complete. Fortunately his love of Lego meant he had all of the necessary pieces needed.
From start to finish the video features four-wheel-motor bikes, pasture paddocks, a cattle truck, an abattoir, and a cooking setting where the meat is prepared. One of his narrations on the video reads "...to be killed and chopped up, production line."
His teacher Emily Deighton said the video was brilliant and she commended Archie for his attention to detail. She said other videos produced by the class were impressive too. The aim was to use the project to explore how food gets from the paddock to the plate.
"We had another student who filmed his farm and they drove to the abattoir and then also cooked some lamb shanks," Mrs Dighton said.
"It was just amazing."
