THE Mudgee Small Farm Field Days have seen some of its biggest events over the past two years.
Record exhibitor numbers, massive visitor numbers and beautiful weather all came together, twice, to make the event a huge success.
The 2019 event is set to be another great year, with more entertainment, demonstrations and exhibits.
The field days was originally developed to support landholders in the region and that focus remains. The event has evolved over the years to offer up-to-date information and solution providers, targeting innovation and sustainability in agriculture and rural living.
With so many products and services now available online, events such as these offer the public a chance to communicate with the industry representatives on a face-to-face level.
This is becoming increasingly rare in the fast-paced, technology driven world we live in.
There will be a great range of agricultural exhibits, from farm machinery to livestock handling equipment, as well as a huge variety of caravan and camping, sustainable living, horticulture and more.
The event is also progressing to include more lifestyle and family interests, to ensure there is something relevant to every visitor that attends.
The Founders Pavilion boasts a wide range of products, including fashion, accessories and homewares.
The pavilion is also home to a range of industry bodies that can assist with advice and information on a variety of topics.
The Farmers Market will offer visitors the opportunity to talk to the farmers and purchase locally made products direct from the producer.
The talk tents - Food, Horticulture and Livestock - will again cover a range of relevant topics, along with the Landcare Lecture Series that is held in the Straw Bale Building.
The horse arenas will be showcasing a myriad of skills and disciplines, with the High Velocity Trick Riders back again to wow the crowds. There will be a range of horse breeds on display throughout the event, including Oliver the Trick Donkey.
The Festival of Yesteryear provides an opportunity to view antique engines, vehicles and other displays of the days gone by, including the Draught Horses demonstrating historic equipment and practices.
There is a range of activities available for kids and families, with the Fashion Parades, live music and the ever popular Animal Nursery.
The Kids Shed in the centre ring will be running craft activities and there will also be a mechanical bull, free for all ages.
MY AG (Mudgee Youth in Agriculture) is again next to the animal nursery, where the straw bale maze will again be a feature. There may even be chicken races to watch.
Whether you're a big-scale farmer, a hobby farmer, live in a rural area or are just looking for a great day out, there is something for everyone at this year's event.
