CELEBRITY builder Scott Cam has hosted The Block on Nine since 2010, and to quote him, it's "never a drag".
"I love the building industry and I love my trade.
"That's what's great about the series.
"Yeah, we're doing a TV show, but I also get to work in the field I love.
"I get to see construction happening and the progress of a building taking shape."
The Scott Cam origin story is the stuff of TV legend: he was "discovered" while enjoying a beer at the pub in 1999 and eventually talked into doing a screen test for Nine's reality series, Backyard Blitz.
Never in his wildest dreams did he think he'd still be in television 19 years later, having worked on some of Australia's biggest renovation-reality shows, including Random Acts of Kindness, Renovation Rescue, Reno Rumble and The Block.
Modest to a fault, his everyday likeability makes him one of the busiest men on television.
It also scored him a Gold Logie in 2014, which he promptly turned into a stubby opener.
Cam will officially open the Mudgee Small Farms Field Days in the centre ring at 11am on Friday, July 12.
