INTEREST was strong for the annual stud female sale at the 2019 Dectomax 60th annual Dubbo Shorthorn National Show and Sale resulting in all 13 lots selling to $7000 and averaging $4462.
Sale top was the 2019 Sydney Royal Show 24-30 months class winner Marrington Effie N8, a roan now 27 months sired by the $18,000 Outback Sprys Genesis and with a calf at foot, Marrington Effie Q1, by Marrington Magician.
The pair were purchased by Ben and Vicki Kell for their Moonthalie Shorthorns, Tumut.
Debbie O'Connor of Marrington stud said the dual package was one of the top female breeding lines within the Marrington stud herd.
"Effie N8 is a half-sister to Marrington Hotshot which sold to Moombi Shorthorns, Cumnock, privately for $18,000," Mrs O'Connor said.
Among the offering were two heifers donated by their breeders fetching $6500 for the McGrath Foundation.
Moombi Kate P76 by Blackjack The Strip, offered by Lester and Sonya Job and sold at $35000 to Marie Barnes, Eldervale Shorthorns, Cudal, while Ronelle Park Miss America P40 by Southern Cross Lonestar, bred by Ross and Janelle Johnstone, Ronelle Park stud, Lyndhurst, was purchased by a buyer through AuctionsPlus.
Marie Barnes also paid $3500 for another Moombi heifer, Moombi Isobel P71 Yamburgan Zeus.
Top-priced heifer, Warraberry Trita P196 by Moombi Sparta, sold by Chris, Rachael and Jeff Hall, Parkes, for $6500 to Lachlan and Angus Spry, Eden Park stud, Tamworth. Another, Warraberry Trita P115 sold at $6000 through AuctionsPlus.
The Helmsman sale was conducted by Landmark and Elders, stud stock divisions, Dubbo.
