In a bid to further their commitment to the Mudgee community, the CWA Evening Branch ladies braved the chilly conditions and held a stall at the 2019 Mudgee Small Farm Field Days.
Selling and serving freshly made scones, cakes, biscuits, slices and muffins, the ladies were out and about in the community, not to be missed.
"We had hundreds of scones cooked on site so you really can't get fresher than that," CWA publicity officer, Annie Johnston said.
"Each day we had a different scone baker and between three and four CWA members assisting us. One of our junior members went around the field day arena on her mobile scooter handing out flyers, it was fantastic."
Due to their popularity, a significant amount of money was raised that will be returned one way or another to the benefit of Mudgee.
"The time spent at the Field Days proved very successful as we had a constant stream of customer and many returning for a second and third time," Annie said.

"We did raise a considerable amount of money most of which will be donated back to the community.
"We do also donate to the CWA Group and CWA Head Office for their running expenses, but, we will decide where it will go at our next meeting on August 12."
