FOR the second successive year a Queensland sire has thrust itself into the Australian first season sires spotlight.
This season's hit being Better Than Ready who has sired 21 winners from his first crop of juveniles (as July 17).
Standing at the Warwick located Lyndhurst Stud, Better Than Ready also has four stakes winners headed by Better Reflection, Jagged Edge and The Odyssey.
Better Than Ready is continuing the wonderful sireline of champion international sire More Than Ready, also sire of the outstanding, but deceased, Sebring.
Winner of eight races including four stakes, Better Than Ready created racing history when breaking Northern Meteor's 1200 metres track record at Randwick.

Bred on a double cross of the great Northern Dancer, Better Than Ready was produced from five times winner Sally's World, daughter of European champion Agnes World, by the influential Danzig. Better Than Ready stands alongside proven sires Rothesay, Champions Gallery, and Hidden Dragon.
Last month Hidden Dragon added a stakes winner to his sire record when River Racer won the Sunshine Coast's celebrated Glasshouse Handicap-LR.
