Justin Richards from Pentire Angus stud held the seventh annual on-property bull sale at Greenmount, Singleton on Saturday.
A crowd braved the freezing conditions supporting the stud to sell 11 bulls of the 19 offered for a 57 per cent clearance, $6068 average and top of $9500. The stud also offered eight heifer lots selling six, for a 75pc clearance, $1516 average and top of $2000.
The sale was a helmsman style with strong online interest from the Auction Plus platform.
Pentire stud principal Justin Richards was happy with the solid result of the sale with both new and repeat buyers showing confidence in his breeding program.
The $9500 top-priced bull was 23-month-old Pentire Neopolitan N37 who was purchased by locals Paul and Jodie Ritter of Rosevale, Greenlands. A son of PC Kodiak K171 from Pentire Pride H36 a daughter of SAV Pioneer.
Repeat buyers Tollua Cattle Co, purchased three lots at the sale including the $9250 second top-priced bull, Pentire Narcos N38, for their commercial Angus operation at Merriwa. N38 was also sired by PC Kodiak K171 and from Pentire Kim K6.
They completed their draft with two stud heifer for $1600 and $1700 who may enter the showring.
The sale was conducted by Roger Fuller Pty Ltd with the Auction Plus platform.
