Regional PitchFest took eleven of the state's best regional start-ups through their paces in a bootcamp held in Sydney.
The bootcamp ended in the announcement of the program's five grand finalists who will do a final pitch in Wagga Wagga on September 5, competing for $20,000 in cash and the title of Regional NSW's best emerging business.
Founder of the program, Di Somerville said Regional PitchFest, partnered this year with Jobs for NSW, aims to bridge the gap between city and country.
"The businesses have exposure and linkages into the metro system, they're being the megaphone for what's possible for businesses in Regional NSW," Ms Somerville said.
"We also want to help educate on start-up businesses and how people use the internet to grow businesses from the bush."
The five grand finalists are...
- Judy Davie from Young, one of five co-founders of PA2Health, a four-week healthy eating, exercise and stress management challenge delivered by Facebook messenger.
- Dimity Brassil from Albury, who has created A Lasting Tale, a guide to record the life-stories of loved ones.
- Danielle Morton from Armidale, who has founded Zondii, an online community for healthy food and eco-friendly products.
- Jonas Widjaja from Byron Bay who's business Fair Game Wild Vension delivers the meat of wild-caught vension.
- Kathy Hubble from the Central Coast, who created Amelio Health, an online support program for people in pain.
The public is welcome to buy tickets to the Regional PitchFest final at the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre on September 5.
