The Land is a finalist for the 2019 News Media Awards in the category of Regional News Brand of the Year.
The Land has achieved a lot in the past year in the news front with a range of breaking stories, as well as stories which have brought change on the ground for our readers.
As well as community projects including The Next Crop forums held through to the end of last year, The Land also dedicated a 16-page wrap around called Little Hands Big Hearts - a tribute to our farming families among our audience who are doing it tough in this drought.
The Land launched the campaign #protectourfarms rallying our readers to support Aussie farmers' right to produce food on their family farm free from activist pressure.
In a first for The Land, it also launched the "Hear Them Raw" podcast series telling the stories of those who have triumphed in the face of adversity.
"A big part of our entry was about our focus on producing content that is relevant for our rural and regional readers, as well as examples of how we've partnered with our readers to help them tell their stories - such as the Little Hands, Big Hearts feature," said The Land's editor Andrew Norris.
