Aussie built and tough on stumps, the bolt-on implements built by the Davey Group from Toowoomba, Qld, attracted plenty of interest at Ag Quip from primary producer keen to make improvements on-farm.
"We didn't have high expectations coming to the field days this year, but we have been surprised by the response," said sales manager Neil Nelson.
"Farmers not able to grow a crop seem to be getting in and doing a bit of tidy up and developing their land. There certainly is a positive outlook and that means dollars are going back into the community with wages, fuel and oil.
"It keeps the money circulating and that's more important than anything."
The Davey Group is best known for its heavy duty disc plough, able to jump stumps and bring regrowth into commercial cropping potential with just one pass.
The technology has been adapted from forestry just like the group's plough-like stump puller, its V-sheer design gleaned from that industry and which is gaining traction in cleared timber plantation situations, particularly in the south, where pasture is the next crop.
Meanwhile, several implements including a large stick rake and a tree spear are being built for an Armidale client who will ship the tools to Ethiopia for a project.
