Narrabri's food and wine festival, Nosh Narrabri, is on this weekend.
Showcasing the best in food, beverages and produce from across the region, Nosh is on Saturday and Sunday, with three big events and three hotly-contested competitions taking place over the two days.
The main Nosh event, the Food and Wine Expo, is on from 12pm to 5pm on Saturday, in the parklands behind Narrabri's Crossing Theatre.
Exhibitors will showcase food and beverages from across the region, and the creators who grow or make them.
"From locally-produced fish and yabbies and marinated sun-dried tomatoes, to gourmet handmade cookies and Australia's only agave spirit - Nosh Narrabri has it all," said Nosh vice president Ruth Redfern.
"Sample a superfood latte, snack on a delicious almond croissant, and select your favourite jams, chutneys, marmalades, sauces, oils, relishes and pickles to take home.
"Entry to the expo is free and open to all, and Narrabri. Bring your friends and family and make a great weekend of it," she said.
The expo will also feature three major competitions: the Australian Regional Homebew Championships; the Great Australian Cheesecake Competition; and the Nosh BBQ Cook Off; plus a huge range of free kids activities - a fun fitness program, face painting, balloon creations, a photobooth, and a cooking demonstration specifically for kids.
Following the expo, the "Nosh On" night will kick off at 6:30pm, featuring a range of Narrabri musicians and fireworks.
"The market square will be converted to a family-friendly concert space - bring your picnic blanket and join us for a night of great live entertainment, hot food and cold beverages," said Ms Redfern.
"This year we're showcasing the amazing talent that Narrabri has to offer. Tickets are still available - grab yours now and join us for a fun night under the stars."
"And, for those who want to make a weekend of it, we have partnered with three local hotels and motels: our official Nosh accommodation providers. To buy tickets, or book a room, simply head to our website: www.noshnarrabri.com.au."
