Red Hill and Ardess Australian Whites held its annual on property auction at Wongarbon on Friday.
With 76 registered bidders, from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, there was standing room only with fierce bidding for the sort after Australian white stock.
On offer was 12 stud rams, 58 stud ewes and 54 flock rams, all stud stock sold under the hammer for a 100 percent clearance with the stud rams topping at $4200, averaging $2066 and the stud ewes selling to a top of $2500 and averaging $1178.
Of the 60 flock rams available 54 were sold for a 90 percent clearance, a top of $1800 and average $1007.
The top price ram was 25 month old, tag 170130 offered by Ardess stud, sired by Ardess 160234 and out of Ardess 160081 with all four grandparents also bred by Ardess.
The ram was purchased by Deb Morrison and Steve Settineri of Banksia Aussie white stud from Inverleigh Victoria. The stud also purchased two one year old stud ewes to complete their selection for $1100 each.
The volume buyer of the flock rams was Pendiana of Narrandera taking home 14 flock rams and a stud ram to a top of $2000 for the stud ram and an average of $953 for their draft.
Joe and Steve Pederick of PF pastoral, purchased their first Australian white's taking home the majority of the stud ewes for a top of $2500, and an average of $1346, completing their draft with a stud ram for $2800.
The auction was conducted by Landmark with Brad Wilson as auctioneer.
