Darriwell Merinos, near Trundle, topped twice at $4500 on Friday afternoon, selling 83 of 100 Merino and Poll Merino rams offered.
The sale averaged $2313.
One of the buyers, Gus Shannon, representing Peter and Odette Morley, Boomey, Molong, was also one of the volume buyers, taking home seven rams.
Mr Shannon said Boomey had been buying Darriwell rams for eight years and reckoned he would have bought about 80 in that time.
FP Carter and Co, Ilabo, also bought seven.
The buyyer of the other top-priced ram, Bruce and Val Burbidge, had spotted their ram at the 2019 Rabobank Dubbo Merino National Show and Sale and returned to Darriwell to secure it for their Murray Bridge, South Australia, property Benefield.
Darriwell principals Russell and Jenny Jones were pleased with the sale considering the season.
"Everywhere north of here is pretty ordinary, a lot of people are in no position to buy rams," said Mr Jones.
