Dubbo Turf Club was the place to be at the weekend, with the running of both the Racing NSW 2019 Showcase Picnic Championship and the Dubbo City Toyota Dubbo Gold Cup.
The $50,000 final in the Picnic Championship series was won by Gadfly, trained by the very popular and all-round nice guy Mark Ward from Condobolin.

The six year old bay gelding by Smart Missile was ridden by the Hunter Valley based jockey Brent Evans.
Meanwhile, it was the Wellington locals who were all smiles after the running of the $100,000 Gold Cup over 1600 metres with former Wellington boy, Greg Ryan guiding the eight-year-old brown gelding, Steamin' to victory for Wellington trainer Michael Mulholland, who part-owns the horse with another Wellington farmer, Malcom Brown.
