TOWALBA Merino and Poll Merino Stud on Friday afternoon near Peak Hill sold to a top of $5000 twice.
Both a horned and poll ram reached that price.
Ian Shaw, Whitefields, Galong, a client of the Kopp family for 15 years, bought the two top-priced rams and another horned ram for $4000 over the phone.
The sale averaged a total of $1775, with the Merinos averaging $1772 and the Poll Merinos $1780.
Just three rams were passed in, with 57 of 60 sold under the hammer.
David and Hannah Russ, Pigeanbah, Warren, were volume buyers taking home nine rams.
Mr Russ has been buying Towalba rams for more than 20 years.
Peter and Jenny Westcott, Peak Hill, also took home five rams as did Robert Grimm, of the Grimm Partnership.
Stud principal Warwick Kopp said given the conditions he was overwhelmed by the sale's results and particularly pleased there were 18 buyers of the 57 rams sold under the hammer.
Other rams were sold after the auction.
Towalba this year bought a share in a Collinsville, South Australia, ram for $72,500, in partnership with Richard Chalker of Lach River Merino Stud.
The ram topped this year's Adelaide Ram Sale.
Stud principal Warwick Kopp said of the ram, "We spent a lot of money on him and I know it's a big dive, but I know this ram can do a lot of good for what we've already got here, I'm still out there to produce something better".
The ram's heavy cutting nature was what attracted Mr Kopps and the fact he has used Collinsville rams twice before to his satisfaction.
Mr Kopp said wool production "is going to be one of the most amazing things we've got in the industry at the moment, even with the wool prices going up and down".
Friday's sale was conducted by Elders Dubbo.
