Santa Gertrudis bulls sold to a top price of $10,000 at the 11th annual Rockingham on-property sale at Tara, Lake Cargelligo, last Friday.
Bulls went to three states with 35 registers bidders and support from AuctionPlus on the day.
The auction saw 28 Rockingham bulls sold to average $6168 and five Denngal bulls top at $8000 to average $5610.
Overall sale-topper at $10,000 was the 25-month-old son of Rockingham Joker J100 weighing 882 kilograms, Rockingham Night Cap, who was purchased by Ross Hague, Tullibigeal.
Mr Hague said the bull was beautifully covered for size and softness and full of beef characteristics.
"He will be going into our commercial herd," he said.
"If you are going to breed good cattle you need to buy the best."
Top price of the Denngal bulls was Denngal Nolen N77at $8000 and was purchased Gunna Santa, Wellington.
Major buyer was Australian Green Properties, Murray Down Station, Alice Springs, Northern Territory, a regular purchaser, who secured seven bulls for a $4714 average, topping at $6000 for Rockingham N268, by the popular Rockinham Joker J100 sire weighing 712kg at 25 months.
Rockingham heifers eligible for classification were in demand with five selling to $1400 and averaging $1240 for a complete clearance.
Top price heifer was Rockingham P127 sold to Denis Moxey, Denngal Santa Gertrudis stud.
The sale of the was conducted by Landmark Russell, Cobar, with John Settree, Landmark Dubbo, as auctioneer.
