An impressive young calf, sashed as the junior champion Hereford bull, stood out for judge Jasmine Green, who awarded the animal the supreme rosette.
Tondara Hereford stud and Jordan Alexander, put up Tondara Mason P037, an August-2018 drop bull.
He weighed 622 kilograms, had an eye muscle area of 88 square centimetres, a rump of 9 millimetres and rib of 9mm.
"He is a very impressive young calf and he is going to be a really stand out sire," Ms Green said.
"He had quite a lot of traits that define those beef animals, in terms of plenty of carcase, but plenty of softness.
"He travelled around the ring really well, so he ticked a lot of those functionality boxes we were looking for,."
Ms Green said it was hard deciding to chose the bull, over the champion female.
"We had a young two year old cow, doing a tremendous job on her first calf, so there was a lot to admire there," she said.
"But the overall the softness and capacity that young bull offered, as a 13 month old calf, I think he has a pretty bright future, ahead of him."
The senior champion bull was awarded to Tondara's Mr H N304.
He weighted 1175kg, had a 125 square centimetre eye muscle area and recorded a rump measurement of 15mm and rib of 15mm.
