SOUGHT after performance horse bloodlines will be on offer in the 11th annual Tocal Australian Stock Horse Sale on November 3.
The ASH society approved sale includes 11 geldings and four mares, all rising three-year-olds, that have had a solid foundation and are ready for work or further training.
Among the stallions represented are Tocal College sires Peelvale Maestro and Boree Below Zero, along with Conductor, Proud Lil Pepto, Destination Unknown and Bald Hills Sizzler. Other sires used over the past two years include Hazelwood Conman, Kydras Acres Mercury, Darma Acres of Impact and Doongara Powerade.
The Tocal College program, in which students obtain a Certificate III in Agriculture (Stock Horse Breeding and Training), is led by horse course teacher Luke Collard, with help from Simone Harvey, Chantelle Vella and Steph Teterin.
All sale horses are handled, broken and trained by students.
"In previous years we've had horses go into the show ring, polocrosse, campdrafting, challenges, dressage and event, snaffle bit cutting, endurance and pony club," Ms Harvey said.
"Our breeding focus is on temperament and trainability, so we're breeding allrounders that suit a range of disciplines."
