Crossbred lambs sold to a top of $151.50 a head at the 7th Yass and District Annual Crossbred Lamb Circuit Sale on Friday.
The sale, facilitated by Butt Livestock and Property, stopped at eight locations and featured 17 vendors.
Numbers were back this year, with 11,100 head offered compared to the usual 17,000 to 19,000, a significant number of the usual offering sold prior to the sale due to challenging season conditions.
Butt Livestock director, Phill Butt said given the conditions, the weight of the lambs were a credit to their vendors.
"We are very happy with the results achieved for our vendors today," Mr Butt said.
"In the current climate there is optimism from stock buyers to finish off these lambs purchased."
He said the firsts and seconds from most vendors sold well but competition was more subdued for the thirds.
"Particular lines sold well right through because of reputation and past performance," Mr Butt said.
"I don't think anything sold better out of the tops and seconds, the thirds probably struggled a little because they're the lightest and you just need more feed."
The top price of $151.50 was achieved by both the first and last vendors of the day.
The first, Cavan Station, Yass sold 511 Poll Dorset cross Merino lambs, July-August drop with Rowallan and Kentish blood, weighing an average of 41.2 kilograms for $151.50 a head.

The top pens sold at the saleyards were from Bimbadeen Pastoral Company, Narrawa and JG and KA Payne, Yass, both vendors selling their top pens of Poll Dorset cross Merino lambs for $147/hd.
Mr Butt said there was good competition from repeat agents and their clients, from Corowa, Forbes, Wagga, Albury, Bathurst, Junee, Coonamble and Gollan, with particular support from RMA Network agents.
"A note of thanks needs to be mentioned to the continued support we have from repeat purchasers and under bidders that help make the sale the success it is every year," Mr Butt said.
All lambs were individually weighed prior to sale day and offered up in weight ranges.
