A very tight finish in the $75,000 2019 Robert Oatley Vineyards Mudgee Cup over 1600m saw the silverware and an oversized chess set go to the Jeff Englebrecht, Wyong trained Hammond Lane.
The eight-year-old chestnut gelding ridden by Grant Buckley just held off this year's Gooree Cup winner Hirokin who is trained at Warwick Farm by Jarrod Austin and was ridden by Cowra's Mathew Cahill.
This year Lizzy Galloway, from Mudgee, was named the best dressed lady with Bryony Tayler, from Newcastle, the second runner up.
While Mudgee's Michelle Meyers placed third overall for best dressed lady she did take home the prize for the best millinery.
