RETURNING to sell at the annual January Blue Ribbon Angus Weaner Sales at the Northern Victoria Livestock Exchange (NVLX) for the second consecutive year was the White family from Barambogie, Chiltern, Vic.
Chris and Sarah White, and their children James and Sarah, offered 10 steers and five heifers of Bluevale Angus bloodlines through Peter Ruaro Livestock/Rodwells.

The 10 autumn-drop Angus steers weighed 342 kilograms and sold for $900 a head or 263 cents per kilogram, while their five Angus heifers weighed 321kg and sold for $780/hd or 224c/kg.
Weighing in nearly 30kg heavier than last year's offering, the White's cattle were weaned onto silage and were not drenched or vaccinated.
Mr White said they were looking to slowly increase their breeding numbers where possible by retaining replacment heifers.
"We can't complain about the season ... we are keeping replacement heifers out of our purebred cows that are by bulls we are happy with, and looking to move more towards purebred Angus," he said.
"Traditionally we were selling into the vealer market, but it was getting harder to do so at times.
"We saw selling weaners through here and how it was easier, so we moved towards pure breds and making that work for us.
"We want to grow our numbers, but it all depends on land and season."
