Abbotsleigh is a pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls in Sydney.
Abbotsleigh has all the advantages of a large city school but it is set on the leafy north shore, on 15 hectares of land.
The school has approximately 170 boarders from Year 7 to 12.
"Our boarders are an integral part of our school community, providing diversity and an added richness," a spokesman said.
"At Abbotsleigh we make it our highest priority to ensure that our girls within boarding are nurtured and supported within a safe and secure environment.
"It is our desire for our girls to become confident young women who seek to understand their place in the world, where they are finding something to say and seeking meaningful ways to contribute and serve.
"At the heart of our boarding community lies the significance of positive and productive relationships.
"No one succeeds alone, we all need each other, and we all benefit from each other.
"We know the importance of team effort and as boarding staff we value the contribution of all community members to the overall success of our girls."
Research shows that one of the most important factors in success at school is the feeling of belonging, a sense of connectedness.
Abbotsleigh believe they are a community where girls can flourish, feel connected and cared for, and they can care for others.
They believe their students feel intrinsically motivated to pursue their interests.
"At Abbotsleigh I feel we are well placed to this," deputy headmistress and head of boarding, Mrs Victoria Rennie said.
"The gospels are our cornerstone and Jesus' central message to love God and love one another is at the heart of all we do."
Boarding means girls have after-school access to a range of facilities, including the library, where they can receive assistance from our boarding tutors while they are working on their homework, coursework or assignments.
With structured prep time, parents can be confident that their daughter will be able to work productively.
