Knox Grammar boys achieved some outstanding results in the 2019 Higher School Certificate with 35 boys achieving an ATAR of 99 plus and more than 165 boys attaining an ATAR of 90 plus.
Two Knox students achieved the 'perfect score' ATAR of 99.95 - Hortin Zeng (Carlingford) and Zachary Slonim (Gordon).
The highest ATAR from a Knox boarder was Oscar Cheal (Lightning Ridge), with an ATAR of 98.15.
Henry Rourke (Orange) was placed on the NSW Education Standards Authority's All Rounders Achiever's List for achieving 90 or higher in his best 10 units and was placed 15th in NSW in Legal Studies.
"With the release of the 2019 HSC results, what has shone through is the strength of the Knox community," headmaster Scott James said.
"This is a community that is supportive, cohesive and caring.
"The boys have worked and studied as a team, supporting each other to improve their performance.
"The HSC is a very demanding experience and the partnership between staff, students and families has been crucial."
Knox ranked 22nd out of 650 schools, with 720 Band 6s (results of 90 plus).
"As a non-selective boys' school, we are extremely pleased with these results," Mr James said.
"Each boy's result is a reflection of his own commitment, dedication and focus."
Thirty-nine Knox boys were placed on NESA's All Rounders Achiever's List for achieving 90 or higher in their best 10 units with 20 placed in the Top Achiever's List for placing in the top 20 in NSW in a course.
"Congratulations to the students, staff and parents on the efforts that have gone into these results," said Mr James.
"Even as we recognise and celebrate the boys' success, we know that the value of these young men is neither described nor determined by their marks.
"We celebrate in seeing them enter a rich and rapidly changing world, to enjoy it fully and in due course leave their mark upon it."
Several Knox boarders were nominated and selected for HSC showcases, including Hugo Morgan (Scone), who was selected for Artexpress and Angus McHue (Griffith) who was nominated.
Knox Boarders Sean Ringrose (Marlee), Nicholas Boyd (Mudgee), Toby Craig (Breeza), Alex Farquhar (Hallsville), Archie Graesser (Dubbo) and Jonah Harvison (Scone) were all nominated for InTech/Shape.
Knox boarder Kit Murphy's (Newcastle) individual performance and Xavier Sammut's (Sydney/ACT) group performance was nominated for OnStage (drama) while Matthan Choi (Hong Kong) was nominated for Encore (music).
