RADICAL vegan group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have used Australia's bushfire crisis to attack the wool industry.
Launched on social media platform Twitter, PETA said the methane produced by sheep had contributed to climate change.
"Is your sweater killing the planet AND sheep AND koalas AND kangaroos?," PETA asks in a new campaign targeting woolgrowers.
"Australia's massive wool farming industry is directly contributing to climate change, causing massive fires on the continent. One sheep can produce up to 30L of methane in one day."
The attack is the latest is long running war between the radical vegan group and the wool industry, which was initially focused on mulesing.
The latest attack drew a strong response with many people saying PETA did not understand wool production.
Other mocked the animal rights group.
Others said arsonists were to blame for the bush fires.
