PLC Armidale has never been a big school, yet it has played a significant role in the New England/north-east region of NSW, having been a leading school for girls since its inception in 1887.
Its size has been a strength, producing exceptional graduates over the past 133 years in a very personalised, engaging educational environment.
"There is just something about PLC Armidale and the PLC Armidale graduate," principal, Nicola Taylor said.
"It may sound a little cliche, but PLC Armidale has always 'punched well and truly above its weight' when it comes to graduate outcomes.
"The New England/north-west region should be exceptionally proud of the results its premier only all-girls regional school continues to produce.
"It's not just the girls who achieve the top marks who are the measures of our success.
"It's the girls who embrace the opportunities offered, develop the confidence to take on challenges and have a go at absolutely everything and walk forward to be contributors to their community wherever they may be."
A range of scholarships are available for girls of promise and potential, including academic, music, creative arts, all rounder (including sport), boarding, and the future leader scholarship introduced in 2019.
"In keeping with the 'buy from the bush' campaign, we are very keen to support families in our region who are seeking to educate their daughters in their own backyard," Mrs Taylor said.
"It is an environment which provides all the opportunities of a larger school yet in a smaller, accessible location in a more personalised, caring context.
"We are particularly sensitive to the needs of regional families during this time of devastating drought and have a number of scholarships available.
"Following the success of our 2019 community open day, PLC Armidale is holding the 2020 community open day on Friday, February 28."
