The need to develop the skills of the next generation of livestock producers has seen Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) tailor a two-day course based on the successful Business Edge workshop.
Hoping to give these producers the confidence to manage a modern agricultural operation, the Business Edge Young Guns workshop launched in Dubbo, New South Wales, with workshops to follow at other locations in NSW, Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia.
The Business Edge workshop has equipped more than 700 producers with knowledge and skills to better understand the business side of their livestock operations.
MLA national adoption manager - genetics, Clara Bradford, said the Business Edge Young Guns workshop is tailored specifically for up and coming producers to build financial literacy and business skills.
"Participants will learn the fundamentals of long-term wealth creation and equity building, and hear from a Young Gun keynote speaker at each event," Ms Bradford said.
"This comprehensive workshop is an opportunity to learn from presenters who understand grazing businesses, and meet other producers who are facing similar challenges, regardless of whether they are carrying on a family business, starting their own business, or stepping up in their roles."
The Business Edge Young Guns 2020 workshops will be held at the following locations:
- Cowra, NSW - March 4-5;
- Alice Springs, NT - March 12-13;
- Broome, WA - April 2-3;
